The Abra Solid North Weavers continued their remarkable run in the MPBL, securing their 21st victory of the season after defeating the Quezon City Black Bulls in a wire-to-wire finish.
With the victory, Abra extended its winning streak to an impressive 19 consecutive games, further strengthening its position as one of the league’s most dominant teams this season.
Leading the charge for the Weavers was North All-Star starter Dave Ildefonso, who paced Abra with 18 points and earned Player of the Game honors for his strong offensive performance.
Abra Controls the Game
From the opening minutes, the Solid North Weavers established control against the Quezon City Black Bulls and never surrendered the lead.
Abra’s ability to maintain its advantage throughout the contest was a testament to the team’s discipline and consistency. Quezon City continued to battle and attempted to cut into the deficit, but the Weavers consistently found answers whenever the Black Bulls threatened to gain momentum.
The wire-to-wire victory also showed why Abra has been so difficult to beat during its current winning streak. Rather than allowing Quezon City to dictate the pace, the Weavers remained composed and continued to execute their game plan on both ends of the floor.
For Quezon City, the challenge was significant from the outset, as the Black Bulls faced an Abra squad that had already won 18 straight games coming into the matchup.
Despite the difficult assignment, Quezon City remained competitive and continued to fight until the final stretch. However, Abra’s consistency proved to be the difference.
Dave Ildefonso Provides the Spark
The biggest individual highlight of the game came from Dave Ildefonso.
The North All-Star starter delivered 18 points, leading the Weavers in scoring and providing an important offensive boost throughout the contest.
Ildefonso’s performance once again demonstrated his value to an Abra team loaded with capable contributors. His ability to create scoring opportunities and deliver when called upon gives the Weavers another dependable weapon as they continue their impressive campaign.
With the game remaining competitive at different points, Ildefonso’s offensive production helped Abra maintain its rhythm and protect its lead.
His 18-point outing ultimately earned him the Player of the Game award.

Quezon City Fights through the Challenge
The Quezon City Black Bulls entered the matchup knowing they had a difficult task ahead of them.
Trying to defeat an Abra team riding an 18-game winning streak required a near-perfect performance, and while Quezon City continued to compete, the Black Bulls were unable to overcome the Weavers’ early advantage.
Quezon City showed resilience throughout the game, refusing to completely back down despite Abra’s consistent control.
The Black Bulls’ effort demonstrated their willingness to compete against one of the league’s strongest teams, but Abra’s experience and momentum ultimately proved too much to overcome.
For Quezon City, the focus now shifts toward its next opportunity to bounce back and build momentum for the remainder of the season.
Abra Reaches 21st Win
The victory marked Abra’s 21st win of the season, another significant milestone for the Solid North Weavers.
Even more impressive is the fact that 19 of those victories have come consecutively.
A 19-game winning streak is a remarkable achievement in any basketball league. It requires sustained excellence, strong team chemistry, reliable contributions from multiple players, and the ability to overcome different challenges from game to game.
Abra has consistently demonstrated those qualities.
The Weavers have also shown that their success is not dependent on a single player. While Ildefonso led the team in scoring against Quezon City, Abra’s overall team effort allowed them to maintain control from beginning to end.
That balance could prove valuable as the season moves deeper into its most competitive stages.
The Weavers keep the Momentum
With 19 consecutive victories now under their belt, the pressure surrounding Abra will only continue to grow.
Every opponent will be looking to become the team that finally ends the Weavers’ remarkable streak. That makes each upcoming game another test of Abra’s consistency and mental toughness.
But based on their latest performance against Quezon City, the Weavers remain locked in.
They controlled the contest from start to finish, received a strong scoring performance from Ildefonso, and once again showed why they have been nearly impossible to stop during this stretch.
For Dave Ildefonso, the 18-point outing adds another impressive performance to his season and reinforces his importance to the Weavers’ continued success.
For Abra, the bigger picture is even more impressive.
Twenty-one wins. Nineteen straight victories. One dominant run.
The Solid North Weavers continue to set the pace, while the Quezon City Black Bulls will look to regroup and return stronger in their next outing.
For now, Abra’s incredible winning streak remains aliveβand with Dave Ildefonso leading the way, the Weavers continue to look like a team nobody wants to face.
